Writing Good Copy

Good copy is one of the biggest aspects that will contribute to the success of your business – both in the short term and in the long term. Copywriting deals with just about all the writing you will do for your business – everything from newsletters to your website to the words that will go on your billboards. When it comes down to it, copywriting is what drives a business forward; it is because of this that it is so important for you to know how to get good copy.

Of course, the most effective way to ensure that you have good copy for your company is to hire someone who is a professional copywriter. You can hire someone full-time if you tend to have full-time copywriting needs, and even if you only need a bit of copy here and there, you can hire a professional freelance copywriter for this. But many companies choose to go it alone when it comes to writing copy – and if this is the case for you, you need to know the tricks!

Get inside the brains of the best copywriters in the world!

One of the tricks to writing good copy is the language that you use; you should make sure the language you use is appealing. Too many people become too formal when they are writing copy, and this dilutes the effectiveness of the copy in question. Always use words that are easy to grasp and understand; the best way to do this is to always state things in the simplest manner.

Of course, when it comes to “stating things in a simple manner,” you need to make sure you know what it is you want to state! Too many people fail to establish exactly what the message of a particular piece of copy will be, and because of this, those who read it do not know the message either.

The Best Copywriting System On The Internet!

And of course, the most important thing of all is that you learn how to use words in such a way that they “pop” and “fizz” inside the reader’s brain. You will be able to grab readers and move your company forward once you learn to put all these elements together and write effective and successful copy.

With eBay, you can make some extra money on the side of your job, or you can get rid of stuff you no longer want. But while eBay is a great place to sell your items, it can quickly become not-so-great if someone is not paying you for the item you “sold.” After all, eBay does not operate like a regular store, where you get paid for something and then give the item to the customer; instead, on eBay, the customer wins a bid, and you have to wait for them to pay you before you can truly consider it to be “sold.”

Customers on eBay have four days to pay, which is important to keep in mind if you are dealing with a customer who has not paid you for an item of yours they won. Even though this seems like a while, eBay will not take a complaint unless it has been at least four days from the day when the auction ended. If four full days pass without a payment, however, eBay starts to take it very seriously, doing what they can to help resolve the issue.

The first thing you need to do, if someone has not paid you, is contact them and see if you can work things out. If you contact the buyer and they either will not cooperate with you or will not respond to your messages, you can take the next step and file a complaint with eBay’s Resolution Center.

The buyer will be notified after you file a complaint with the Resolution Center, and they will again have four days to pay. They are allowed to contact you during this time and ask for an extension or try to make some other arrangement, but you are under no obligation to agree. If it goes another four days and they still have not paid, this item will go down as an unpaid item.

This unpaid item will be listed permanently on the buyer’s account, and you are then able to list your item again, or you can give a Second Chance Offer to one of the bidders who lost on the item. And when you sell your items on eBay, keep this in mind: you are able to look at the accounts of those who are bidding on your items, and if you find unpaid items in their history, you can protect yourself by blocking them from bidding on the things you list!

Affiliate Site Marketing Mistakes to Avoid

Affiliate site marketing is proving to be a profitable pusuit for many, but so many people are now doing this that the competition is getting stiff. If you follow these four principles, you’ll greatly improve your chances of succeeding in the affiliate marketing world.

Investigate to determine which offers are the best converters. Build a friendship with your affiliate marketing manager and find out which offers are converting well, and be willing to pay more for an offer that will pay you in the long run. You may be wasting your time if you place your bets on offers that don’t convert well, especially if you’re new to this and don’t have established sites operating.

Research to discover what niches are not overly exploited already. This may lead you to promote something that is new and unusual and may not be interesting to you personally, but you’ll be glad you did it if you find a niche that is not taken by the big boys and still converts well. This will take some time and investigation, but it’s worth it.

Build a solid rapport with your affiliate site manager. Be willing to accept low-payout offers, and put the time into promoting them, even if the pay-out is not garnering you much per hour, and then seek approval for higher paying offers. Spend time making sure every affiliate site looks good. Hire a copywriter if you aren’t a good writer or if English is your second language, and be willing to pay a decent wage so you don’t get someone in a third world country writing junky content for your site. Maintain a good relationship with your affiliate manager by responding to communications immediately and with respect.

Follow the search engine rules. You don’t want Google to shut your site down because you bent the rules. You can’t just slap up a one-page affiliate marketing site full of scammy promotions and think the search engines are going to approve you. Put up ten pages of content, all of it good stuff that relates to your offers you want to promote. Supply a contact page and a resource page to make your page even more legit.

If you follow these rules and persevere, you just may get your slice of the affiliate marketing pie.

Tips For Finding Success Through Delegation

Running a small business of your own can either be great fun, or it can be an arduous experience full of stress! Learning to delegate tasks to others who work for you is one of the best ways to eliminate the stress that can come from running a business. In fact, the delegation of tasks is one of the primary keys if you want to find success in running a business – especially when it comes to small businesses!

Lots of people who run a small business started the business because they wanted to be their own boss, and because they wanted to run things the way they want to run things! The problem, however, is that such people can have a hard time handing their authority over to others when the situation calls for it. But those who do not learn to delegate are never able to reach their full potential, and their business is never able to achieve maximum success.

Having people underneath you to whom you can comfortably delegate tasks is one of the first keys of successful delegation of tasks. This starts at the hiring process, which means that you cannot simply hire people to hire them; it is much better to wait if necessary. You can ensure that you are hiring people who will be able to take on tasks as they grow within your business if you have taken time throughout the interview and hiring process.

You also need to be organized in the manner in which you delegate tasks, dividing things up into categories. In this way, you will be able to know which employee is best in each category, and you can delegate tasks appropriately.

Accountability is another big aspect of delegation, as accountability allows you to make sure that the tasks you are handing out are being properly taken care of. At first, you should make your employees accountable to you; as your business grows, you can add people beneath you, to whom others can be accountable.

In the long run, your job within your small business should entail nothing more than assigning and monitoring work; and as you do this, your “small” business will continue to grow.

Rescue Package For The Overworked Manager!

Because of the great number of job possibilities out there, it can be difficult to know exactly what job will be the right job for you. This can especially be the case for those high school or college students who are at a place where they are needing to decide where they will go in the future. For anyone who is in this place – or, for anyone with children who are in this place – the best approach is to find something you are good at and to settle down with a job that will allow you to thrive in this area. For anyone who has spent their whole life being “good with numbers” (and who actually enjoys numbers!), here are a few of the best jobs to keep in mind.

Accounting: Accounting can seem like a boring job to some, but for those who prefer to work with numbers over working with people, it can be perfect; accountants typically handle the money and taxes for both companies and individuals. While many accountants work for large accounting companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, and Ernst & Young, others work directly for companies and businesses, and others run their own private practice.

Marketing For Accountants.

Engineering: For those who want to work with both numbers and computers, a great field to look into is engineering. Engineers work in all different sorts of areas, with engineering professions belonging in such disparate fields as physics, computers, biochemical, and many more!

Finance: If you are a great mathematician and also enjoy working closely with people, a career in finance might be the perfect place for you. If you take a job in finance, you will usually either deal directly with clients, or you will deal directly with the brass of the company for which you work. The study of finance can also be beneficial to anyone who feels they might want to apply the knowledge and expertise into personal finance and investments.

You will usually find good salaries and great job security when it comes to jobs that deal with numbers. Consider a career in accounting, engineering, or finance if you have long had a knack for numbers and have started to wonder exactly where this knack will take you.

Writing A Job Resume That Stands Out

This is why your job resume is important: It is the first part of you a prospective employer will ever see. With the economy and unemployment being what they are these days, you will find yourself competing against plenty of applicants when searching for a job. Due to this, you must understand the ways by which you can make your job resume stand out. The method of “listing your previous jobs and hoping for the best” used to work just fine. But you will be limiting yourself if you take this approach these days. Instead, you should learn how to make your resume stand out from those around it, creating the feeling with a prospective employer that they “have to” call you and bring you in for an interview.

One of the most important elements of your resume is its design. This might seem like an odd place to begin – after all, you are applying for a job, not applying to be a document designer – but you have to consider the prospective employer’s perspective. More than likely, they have been at their desk for what seems like ages, poring over a stack of resumes. Studies have shown that the initial look at a resume lasts about 15-20 seconds. If your resume has small font or very little white space, it will not make tired eyes feel very happy. Instead, you should make sure you leave lots of white space on the paper, designing it with clear headings. When tired eyes come across such a resume, it will seem like an inviting escape; you might even get them to spend more than 15-20 seconds on their first glance!

The next step that will set you apart from other applicants is your list of qualifications and accomplishments. Never fabricate this section, but make sure you dig deep to uncover things that might not have popped into your mind right away. Include anything that might help the prospective employer make a decision!

Finally, your list of qualifications will be among the most important selling points of your resume. This is where you set yourself head and shoulders above your competition. This section should be thought of as an advertisement; you should use this section to convince the prospective employer of all the reasons why they should “buy” you.

Job hunting can become a whole lot easier, even in these uncertain times, when you know the steps necessary to make your resume stand out.

The Importance Of Good Customer Service

If you have a small business, it can be difficult to compete with the “big boys”; after all, they can usually offer a greater selection than you can, or they can offer a better price, more locations, more manpower, and they usually have more money to spend on advertising. But the one thing a small business can offer that the “big boys” cannot match, no matter how hard they try, is quality, truly personal customer service. None of the big companies can ensure that every one of their employees is treating customers the way they wish for them to treat customers. But if you run a smaller operation, you can provide your customers with a personal touch that can turn them into repeat customers.

For any business, roughly 80% of their business comes from 20% of their customers; this, of course, means that your repeat customers are your most valuable asset. Many small businesses fail because they think that the most important asset is the product, or the storefront, or the advertising, but this is all wrong. After all, you do not need a ton of “ad money” in order to turn your customers into advertisements themselves.

Word of mouth advertising is the best form of advertising there is, and not only that, but it costs you no money at all! What you have to remember as a small business owner is that every one of your customers has a voice, and each of them can use this voice to help you or hurt you. Customers are likley to come back to you over and over again – and to tell their friends about you – if you treat them with an inordinate amount of respect, attention, and care. But if you treat your customers as though they are nothing to you but a way to make money, they will find a new place to shop, and they will tell their friends to stay away from you.

Thats Customer Service – learn the tricks to providing great customer service!

All you have to do is treat customers well, giving them your full attention and respect; this is the easiest way to provide great customer service, and as a small business owner, this is your biggest advantage over the big businesses – the one area in which they cannot compete with you!

Designing An Effective Business Card

A business card is one of the most important tools you can use to promote both yourself and your business to potential customers and clients.

A business card will ensure that you always have something handy that you can give out to people whenever the opportunity strikes. But while an effective business card can be a great tool, an ineffective business card can be a waste of time and money. Not only should your business card list a name and phone number, but it also needs to inspire people to call the number!

Keep in mind the fact that those who take your business card will not always rememer exactly who it was that gave it to them. Depending on who the person is and the circles they typically find themselves in, they may end up with several business cards in their pocket each day. A business card must state who you are and how to reach you, of course; but also, it must state – in a very clear manner – what it is you do! It is especially important to make sure the card clearly states what it is you do if the name of your business does not make it clear!

Another thing you should add to your card is your logo, but you should be aware of its placement; do not allow it to take over the card! The logo should be noticeable, but it should not be the focal point; after all, the logo is an important element, but it is still only one element.

It is worth spending a little bit of extra money to make sure your card looks professional, as a professional-looking card will inspire confidence. If someone is looking for a plumber, for instance, and they have nothing to go off of but a few business cards, they will choose the highest-quality, most professional-looking card.

Your business card can do a lot to help your business, or it can do very little; in fact, it can even be a detriment! Spend a bit of extra time to make your card effective, and spend a bit of extra money to make your card look great!

How To Make Money By Shopping At Garage Sales

You begin to realize that opportunities to make money exist in great abundance, as soon as you get in the habit of looking for these opportunities. And selling used items online is certainly at the top of the list when it comes to big, easy, profitable ways to make a bit of extra money. And while you might not have piles of useful used items laying around your own house, you can usually find great stuff for sale by others! As you begin to visit garage sales and yard sales, you will find that lots of people sell useful items for “get rid of it” prices – items you can sell for more on eBay!

image

The first tip for shopping at garage sales to make money is to start off with a small-scale operation. You should not be looking for a big strike from the start, but should be looking to get your feet under you and solidify your eBay seller rating. You should only need to make one, small investment into your foray into eBay; this should be a small investment, and the money will be paid back to you over time, after which you will continue to reinvest your profits. Start with about $50, buying lots of smaller items; you can double or triple this money, pay your investment back to yourself, and then use only this money for your garage sale shopping from that point forward!

After you have established your seller rating and begun to pile up a little reservoir of money, you should start to look for some items you can sell for a higher price. Research is vital at this stage, as an item will not necessarily sell well just because you think that it should! Instead of being reactive in your garage sale shopping, learn to be proactive, knowing what you are looking for even before you head out there.

Finding items that others want and making these items available for auction is really all there is to making money on eBay. And once you become more and more of a pro at finding items people will want, your small investment will start to seriously grow.

Getting A Small Business Loan

Lots of people are thinking about starting up a small business of their own these days - either because of layoffs, because of the difficulty in getting a job in the current job market, or simply because of a dream someone has to work for their own self – but before you can start a small business of your own, you will need a small business loan! If you first know what you are doing, it is not difficult to procure a small business loan – but of course, you must first know what you are doing!

The first major step in getting a loan to start your small business is to write a detailed business plan. This business plan should project at least the first three years of your business, and should be as detailed as possible – including your startup expenses and your projected month-by-month profits over that span of time.

Most people naturally assume that a national bank is the best place to go in order to get their small business loan, but it can actually be more difficult these days to get a loan from a national bank because of the recession. You might be better off calling the bank manager of a local bank and setting up a meeting – in this way, you can make a connection with someone who is high up in the local business hierarchy and can have a better chance of procuring a loan, all at the same time.

Finally, for the bank, you will have to do your monthly debt-to-income ratio and will have to also give them a record of your last three income tax returns. After this, the bank will do a credit check on you, and then – if all goes well – you can finally receive that small business loan you have been waiting for! Once you have this loan, you will be able to start your business, and then the fun parts of running your own business can begin at last!
